What's the difference between concealer and foundation?

just curious. trying to learn a bit about make up.





and what kind of concealer and foundation would anybody recommend for sensitive skin that isn't too heavy and doesn't dry out your skin or clog your pores?

i think foundation is meant to go as a base all over your face...while concealer is meant to help cover up minor imperfections that foundation doesnt fully cover...but im not 100% sure!What's the difference between concealer and foundation?
Well basically a concealer is more heavily pigmented, richer, usually thicker, to cover up or conceal any blemishes. Foundation is usually lighter pigments, more like a light liquid and gives you a base to put on other makeup. It evens out skin tones but doesn't give you too much coverage. When you apply, put foundation on first to cover up smaller blemishes and then put on your concealer to cover any that weren't completely cover by the foundation. If you do it the other way around, you could end up putting on too much and looking fake.

Foundation goes all over your face to even things out, and concealer is used just for spot coverage, like a zit or a red mark on your face. Foundation is lighter; concealer is thicker. Concealer is a bit thicker - it is used to cover up blemishes, acne, under eye circles, etc. Foundation is supposed to be used all over your face to even out your complexion. CoverGirl skin makeup has proven to work the best for me - they have tons of different types. Also, most of their products don't clog pores and are oil-free.
